Description
First Light | Yoga and Poetry at Dawn Sunday, 11 October 2026 | 7:00 am Sconfinare Festival
At dawn, Piazza del Sole has a different voice. Before the day’s encounters and words begin, the light slowly enters the Festival space and invites us to a different kind of listening: to the breath, the body, and the silence that comes before every word. From this moment of transition comes First Light, a new experience presented by Sconfinare Festival 2026.
From 7:00 to 8:30 am, yoga teacher Roberta Beffa will guide participants through a practice in which asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises) alternate gently, inviting awareness of the body, attentive listening and inner calm. As the practice unfolds, Michele Corengia, poet and expert in Medical Humanities, will weave in selected poetry readings: words that accompany movement, open spaces for attention and resonate within the silence of the morning.
A sensory and reflective experience to welcome the day as it begins, slow down, listen to oneself and experience the Festival from another perspective: not only through thought and dialogue, but also through the body, the breath and the light.
Roberta Beffa completed a 400-hour training course in 2022 at the Libera Scuola di Hatha Yoga Hamsa in Lugano, following the Pranayoga Method of Master Maurizio Morelli. Since then, she has continued to deepen her practice through further training, enriching and refining her skills. Her classes place the focus on listening to the body. By cultivating balance, strength and concentration, Roberta invites participants to connect with the present moment and quiet the mind, embarking on a personal journey towards greater awareness and holistic wellbeing.
Michele Corengia is Operations Director of Fondazione Sasso Corbaro. In his doctoral research, he explored the boundary between economics, care and poetry. This research led to a poetic-existential writing practice that explores the body, breath and vulnerability as places of connection and meaning. In his work, he brings together reflection and poetic language to create spaces for listening and awareness, where caring for oneself and for others becomes a shared experience.
The event is promoted in collaboration with Fondazione Sasso Corbaro.
